Abstract:

Six new species of Magnolia (Magnoliaceae) are newly described and illustrated. Information about ecology and distribution is also provided. Two of the species belong to subsection Dugandiodendron: M. azulensis, from Peru and M. shuarorum, from Ecuador; and the other four species belong to subsection Talauma: M. canandeana, M. crassifolia, M. kichuana and M. zamorana, all four species from Ecuador
